[sdiy] Noise of the 909 type.

Hola Chaps,
I don't suppose anyone can enlighten me - simple self that I am.
I was looking at the schem for the tr-909 and the dr110 and noticed 
that the noise generator is completely different from those that 
I've seen up until now - I'm still relatively new to this game - 
that use a transistor or zener diode.  So how does this circuit do 
it? 

- I tried looking at the data sheet for the 4006 but it's just 
scary.  I also found a good site that explained all the parts of the 
909 except the noise bit - so neither was any help.
