[sdiy] DIY PCBs

There should have been a smiley face at the end of
"get someone else to do it..." (IMHO) ;^P

We don't make our own copper clad... smelt the ore to
mix our own solder...

Wind our own resistors...

The point (of the choir) is that PCB fabrication is a
messy and potentially toxic process that has the
potential for personal and social harm.

So if you are happy ;^) and dispose of your spent
chemicals in a socially (environmentally) responsible
manner... enjoy

Its likely that a "buy it elsewhere" approach is
right for more people... especially as advice to
those new to the "DIY" hobby.

I've done boards in the kitchen and the lab... and
I'd recommend the "but it" approach... especially
buying it from other DIYers... who sell boards.

This brings the per-unit cost down to where you cannot
economically MAKE your own without LOSING money. If
I make a design that might be intersting to others...
I'll offer the boards to the list (at nominal cost) so that
my boards cost $10 instead of $100.

If anyone prefers to "sing solo..." hey take the stage
and enjoy !!!

H^) harry
