You can have a whole lot of films and boards done for the money you would spend
on PCB manufacturing equipment...

What I did for eurocards was draw a circuit with MacDraw on Macintosh, print it on 
an A4 paper, at 200% (?), with a 300dpi laserprinter, and had it made into a film 
by the PCB shop. They can reduce the copy on film, making it sharper. Doesn't cost 
much, $5 or $10 or so.
