I disagree with the 'sounds meaner than Hendrix' idea, all you are doing is
changing the pitch! I've done a few mods to my 202 but there is virtually no
room for controls. I have jacks for audio in and filter cv placed on the
front, backing on to the battery compartment. You could fit lots of switches
here but it's really a bad spot. I built a box for routing the 2 channels'
CVs and gate outs into the filter cv as well as containing a second
oscillator and white noise. Here's a pic:

The 202 is an excellent machine, the only other really useful mods I could
think of is a switch to swap between the internal sequencer channels so you
don't have to stop the machine (and re-sync - AAAAHH!). Also the CV/gate
inputs (as well as the calculator-style keyboard) get run through the
internal sequencer and quantized to it's BPM before reaching the sound
circuits. Sounds like a fun feature but it's not, bypassing this is a good
idea.
