> I ain't touching any of those chemicals I can't pronounce!
I used to be very careless with chemicals in my youth.
I remember one experiment, blowing Cl2 thru C6H12 (Benzol
in German, no idea about the English expression). The liquid
had to be cooled, and I needed UV light for the reaction.
So I did it outside in the sunlight.
It worked as intended, the reaction produced Hexachlorcyclohexan
(C6H12Cl6 ?), an insecticide. Don't know what else the reaction
produced.
I tried it on a wasp (not the EDP one) and it was dead just from the
fumes in seconds. I was impressed.
Next day, I had a blue-green rash in my face ...
Since then, I have a deep respect for organic chemicals, and
aromatic stuff in particular. Most of it is quite unpleasant.
