I can pass you a bunch of links if you want to do it today...
At work, where we are dealing with digital telecommunications in
multi-gigabitper second, I keep to annoy me fellow colleagues (which
are digital heads) by exclamate things like "Lets fix an advanced
digital problem with a simple analogue solution!" and actually got
away with doing exactly this a couple of times and greatly outperform
the digital stuff.
Analogue is not dead, it has just expanded its operating area by 6
decades in frequency ;O)
Modern digital design still require a fair amount of analogue
knowledge to get it to operate such as the digital theory predicts.
