I did this on my JH-3 Modular. +/-18V regulator in the PSU, and
+/-15V regulators on each board. The limited voltage drop
of 3V helps to keep the heat out of the modules, so I could
use the DIP packaged RC4195 tracking regulator.

BTW, I got the idea from the Oberheim N-voice synths. Not exactly
a modular system, but in many ways built like one.
