Dans paper states that its a simplified form of the duffing equations, which
delving into the Joe Pritchard Chaos Cookbook reveals :

!Forced Duffing Oscillator!  NOT UEDA!!!!

dx/dt = y
dy/dt = -a*y-x*x*x+b*cos(c*t)

b controls the mag of the forcing waveform
c controls the freq od the forcing waveform



and thers short code listing at the end of the chapter5, although this uses
Runge-Kutter method which is a bit OTT but accurate.
Its easier to implement in code with Euler's method, with its associated loss of
accuracy.
More useful to us DSP types BTW i spose...
