[sdiy] Prophet2000 8-output mod advice needed

Hi, I have just finished (well nearly finished) my first DIY project. I have
mostly installed the 8 Output upgrade kit for the Sequential Prophet-2000.
Everything is working fine, I just have one problem. For the shield that
goes under the keyboard, it says to solder it to the ground plane... The
area that the instructions show has no exposed metal, so what am I supposed
to solder it to?... do I need to scrape away some of the green stuff (sorry
for my technical terminology there!) if so, how do I go about doing that.
Also on the circuit board I am suposed to solder the ground wire to, I see a
small lead sticking up labled GND, but its not in the same spot as the
ground plane in the directions. Should I solder the ground wire from the
shield to this lead instead?

Any help is extremely appreciated!

Also, how would you rate this Mod on a level of dificulty. I did not find it
hard to do at all...I think half of it is having the right tools! I chose
the P-2000 for my first project because it seems that it would have been
relatively cheap to fix if I screwed things up! Basically, since I finished
this without any problems or dificulties, do you think I would be able to
move on to adding 6 individual outputs to my six-trak and adding 4x CV/Gate
inputs to my Jupiter-4? Or should I practice some more?

Thanks
James
