Greetings,

   Not sure if this was brought up before, but it was believed for a long
time after the CD was introduced that "painting" a CD green would improve
sound quality.  It went so far as to some folks making special markers for
this purpose (can we say $.49 green sharpie marker for $5).

 I seem to recall that most of the CD BS was introduced by the public as way
to find self imporved "flaws" in the new "perfect" digital technology.
