Dear all,
Thanks for the comments!
- I understand the wish for a digest form of synth-diy,
but as many people already pointed out modern mail
readers can quite easily sort messages from various
lists into mail folders. I use Netscape Communicator
myself on Unix, Mac and Windows and that works fine.
The biggest con against a digest I think is that people
reply to the digest, and threads are totally lost.
Majordomo does seem to have digest capabilities, I'll
look into the digest form a bit more. I can see people
subscribe to the digest-form, but replying should be
checked against simply replying to the digest. Meaning:
you cannot simply reply to a message and expect it to
be distributed.
- prefix to the subject: To make sorting easier and
to distinguish emails from synth-diy there now is the
prefix '[sdiy]', this email could be the first with
this prefix. (No, it isn't.)
- I see that the off-topic tag is already used well,
I'm happy about that.
All in all this is a well-behaved list, usually it is
even self-moderating :-)
Enjoy,
Rick Jansen
