I think you meant to say parallel, instead of series. Capacitors in
parallel will have a larger total capacitance. You simply add the
individual values together to get the total for the parallel combination.

Would filtering your email help? I filter all my email and I have no
problems with receiving the traffic from this list at all.

In fact, I've never really liked the concept of digest-mode. Some people
will actually reply to several different previous messages with only one
email. It's very awkward to sort through that type of message. Digest-mode
introduces a time delay effect which can be annoying, and it makes it
harder to save only the messages you want to save, and to delete the rest.
That said, apparently some people still find use for it. If it's made an
*option*, that's fine with me.

However, if we were going to change the delivery of list mail, I think
there is something more interesting to change. I've been on several mailing
lists in the past, and there is something that annoys me a little about
this list. I can't simply "hit the reply button" to respond to messages on
this list. When I try that, I end up sending a message back to the
individual poster, and not to the whole list. The *ONLY* lists that have
ever given me this problem, are the synth related lists (Synth-DIY,
Analogue Heaven, Digital Hell). Unfortunately, these are also my favorite
lists.

I can work around the issue by using the "reply-to-all" option of my email
program, but then I have to edit the "To:" and "Bcc:" headers to remove
extra email addresses. I've also read about more than one person who was
puzzled by receiving multiple copies of the same post. This is most likely
a side-effect of people using the "reply-to-all" feature of their email
client and not removing the extra addresses in the headers. This sort of
thing would end if we could simply use "reply-to", instead of "reply-to-all".

Is it practical to adjust this aspect of the mailing list? Can it be
adjusted so that we can simply use the "reply-to" feature of our email
software and have the results directed to the whole list?

Thanks for listening,
Glen
