I spose you could do a discrete bbd, but then again people used to make 
discrete tube computers.. the smallest BBDs are 256 stage, good ones want at 
least 1024 stage.. that's a lot of fets! as far as reason to..  obsessive 
compulsive disorder? nothing for your 3rd world illegal immigrant slaves to 
do?  :)
