Suboctave generator - 4013?

What I want to do is multiply a square wave frequency by 8, then divide it
by 7 to get a major 2nd (approx) and divide by nine to get a major ninth
(approx).  Unfortunately, I've been having such a hell of a time just
multiplying a nice square wave two or three times that I've almost given up
on my dream of a semi-chromatic dissonance generator.

Btw, can I use a 565 to multiply freq of a square wave by 2?  Anybody want
to draw me a schematic?  Or should I use a 4046?
