And this might be a good reason to build a tube synth. After all, what if 
someone on this list were to unearth (figuratively) the earliest synth from 
say the thirties. Maybe it would have been built by Tesla or Theremin -- 
surely it would be all tubes. It would be even more interesting if it had all 
the basic compliment of features of say a Mini (ADSRs, two 1v/oct VCOs, VCF 
with VCQ, VCA, noise, etc.) all labeled with terms more appropriate for the 
day. It might be great for some UK music mags April edition. Call it the 
Piltdown.
