Good Transistor Book...

Hi there..

Just wondering if someone can recommend a good book about transistors... I'm
looking one, that explains what all the parameters I find in datasheets are
about. I know how transistors work, and I'm able to put together a simple
amplifier stage, but I always use "rule of thumb" resistor values (because I
don't know better).

I guess there are tons of such books out there (for electrical enineer
students or so). But I don't know where to look at.

My only source at the moment is a old german book called "Werkbuch
Elektronik" from "Nührmann". It explains the basics.. like maximum collector
current, gain-factors and so on, but I'm still on my own if I want to drive
a transistor as a linear amplifier.. (I know.. I only have to raise the
be-voltage until I'm at the linear part of the response curve..).

Thanks in advance, folks,
