Here's a couple of articles:

http://www.salon.com/books/wire/2001/01/09/ginger/index.html

There is also an article about him working to perfect
the Stirling Engine:

Could this be the power source?

I saw a television show on the iBot he invented.
It is like nothing you've ever seen. Spend some time
checking out his patents over at the patent server...

Quotes like "Another investor, Credit Suisse First Boston,
thinks 'Ginger' will be the most lucrative start-up in
history and will make Kamen richer than Bill Gates.
Bezos and Jobs were reportedly dazzled by a demonstration."
sure are intriguing.
