Mac OS battery troubles

This is a very common problem with old macs, and can result in all sorts of
odd errors including looking like the machine is toasted. I have saved a
few machines from the scrap heap with bad batteries, one of them being a
200 MHz 603e which I got paid to remove!!! Often zapping the PRAM (pressing
apple-option-p-r imediately after switching on and holding until the chime
repeats) will start them up, but you have to do it every time until you get
a new battery.
Theres life in those old machines yet!
BTW if anyone is interested I am in the process of putting together a small
mac help site, should be up in a week or two.
