i di use nearly exclusively 0.14 qmm stranded wire.
(don´t know what tis is expressed in AWG)

For the connections from the boards to the panels,
and for the power to the boards. The power distribution
in my modular is done by 4 "rails" made of 4 qmm
stranded wire that runs from the left thru the right side of the
entire system. (4 for GND, +5V, +15V and -15V)
