modules with different tubes?

Quite a few different tubes can be used for various modules. I have made the
VCAs and VCFs with odd TV pentodes. The one in the 6X8 should also work.
This tube could also be used in the LFO. (Must chase up the circuit for this
- it went down with synthfool.)
VCOs are best done using thyratrons, and these are more of an "industrial"
tube. You might have to buy them. See my page at
http://kato.sai.com.au/catgirl/synth/ and the temporary
http://www.blaze.net.au/~sasami/synth/ for more info.
Mind you, the 12ax7s could probably be used in the control and amplification
parts of the vco. I haven't tried one myself, but I think it was what Rene
was using.
