Broken Full Moon

There are 2 simple solutions you can do:

1. Move around all night to find a spot where it shines brighter
  (maybe it can take a long time, but using a plane to get above
  those nasty clouds may be helpful)

2. Get a telescope and look directly at it - it will definitively be brighter
  then.

Maybe you don´t believe me that the moon is shinig at a constant brightness.
If so, you will need to pack it well and send it to the place where you did buy it;
AFAIK moons usually have a lifetime warranty to the original buyer.
