Multiconductor cables + sheilding

Hi List,

I'm planning some mods for my SH-101, and I've decided that I'd rather put
the new knobs on a seperate breakout-box, instead of carving dozens of holes
in the case. I'd like to connect the two with a 3'-4' (1m) cable. I'm
hoping to use a single circular multi pin connector, and I'm trying to keep
the 101 functioning as stock without the breakout box connected.

First, most of the signals on the cable will be CV, not audio.. so I'm hoping
it won't be very susceptible to noise. I will only have 2 audio lines
(external audio inputs to the filter). I have some cable here that I
scavanged, and I was wondering if it would work well. It's 8 twisted pairs
(26ga) all surrounded by a single foil sheild with a drain (100% sheild
coverage). Will this provide enough sheilding? Will I need to worry about
crosstalk?

Also, can anyone recommend a brand for the circular multipin connector (with
twist-lock)? I only need 2 jacks and 2 cable connectors, so cost isn't a
huge concern. I'd like the connector diameter to be less than 3/4" if
possible. I was looking at the Amp "Series 4" multipin connectors. Any
experience with these?

Thanks in advance
Dave Magnuson
