ot: Acoustic Model 9901 speakers - scam?

I can't remember the number of times I've had some guy in a van pull up
next to me and shout "hey buddy wanna buy some speakers?".  There's
always some story about "factory surplus" or "the buyer refused
delivery" or some other nonsense.  Not that I'm trying to disparage the
Acoustic brand specifically or anything (never tried them), but in
general I've become be wary of strangers bearing speakers.  :)
