Amplifier kits?

Now I'm confused !!!   ;^P

Some list members have suggested that I
use "Valve Amplifiers"....

and some others swear by "Tube Amplifiers"....

Can anyone suggest which one is really better ?

And do you think I'll be able to tell the difference
anyway ???
