Things That 'Screw Up' a Waveform

All the talk about the bi-pulse (which looks like a very cool
thing) got me itchy again about a state variable filter with
nonlinear feedback. I had last week off and of course there
had to be a "creeping death" chest cold around, so I was laid
low all week and couldn't do much. But the good news (er and
bad too) us that my job contract is up end of January and I
will most likely be unemployed for a couple of weeks. I want
to take another shot at this then.

I think my project got a little too complex, I started worrying
about bandpass and hipass outputs etc instead of just first
making the basic thing work as a usable unit. I had it operational,
but all spread out on the bench. I didn't really do alot
of testing then because my oscope was in the process of eating it.
But even with a malfunctioning Eico, I could see that it would
screw up wave forms pretty well, and the ear test was also
positive. Now I have a brand new BK Precision scope which will
show much more accurate waveform pictures (40+ times the bandwidth
of the Eico) So this time around, I'll be using the KISS method.
I think just having the lowpass unit will be alot of fun.
