****THIS IS A JOKE DON'T DO IT... REALLY.... WARNING !*****

er... you will not have to worry about ESD if you are well grounded.
Standing in a tub full of water creates a really good ground for the user....
Hey Eric, (Metasonix tube guru...) you OK with this advice ??? ;^)

I shudder a little bit as I say this. I hope no one will ignore the disclaimer.
The
point is touching electronic circuits directly NEED not result in ESD if there is
no potential
difference between the human body and the circuit, such as... it is battery
powered...
you are touching (or have just touched) ground... and the points you are touching
are
creating parallel paths, where the voltages could be dissipated safely into the
circuit.
My "lowest cost synth" design of last year was a CMOS circuit designed to be
touched
in this manner. It had its own self-contained speaker, was battery powrered, and
not
capable of any more danger than sticking a body part (woah!) on a 9V battery.
The jibe to Eric was for his Vaccuum tube synths... touching those in just about
anyplace
would be ill-advised and possibly lethal !
Electronic circuits can be dangerous ! Touching them could be harmful or fatal.
Even
a battery powered circuit could (through an output cable to a defective amp...)
potentially
KILL you.
So have fun...............
