as in odd or as in strange? :-)
You could also check out VOSIMs. These are Voice simulators designed by
Konig, Tempelaars and Scherpenisse (sonology dept in http://www.koncon.nl).
They too wanted harmonicscontrol, so they made a device with several inputs:
First harmonic frequency (pulse)
Harmonic freq (CV)
# of periods of the harmonic per burst (knob)
Phase (0, 90, 180, 270 degrees) (knob)
waveshape (knob)
Basically the divice triggers sine bursts. The first harmonic is the
trigger for it. Each burst can contain 1 to 8 waves. By starting the wave
at 90 or 270 degrees the sound gets more harmonics...
This way overtones can be controlled serperate from the fundamental.
It's indeed voicelike, especially with a nice 5Hz vibrato on the
fundamental, and if occasionally (randomly) a pulse is missed, as normal
voices get 'stuck' every now and then.
But as a voices used at least two resonances I had more succes with voices
while using BP filters. Especially when using three of them and alter those
randomly, or with faders. Man, I remember now I had a very good time doing
this in the famous BEA5 studio...
Bottomline: you might want to check out VOSIM, as it might do for you what
you want. And it's distinctly unique in sound.
