I've had one of these for fifteen years (though we use the base-station 24v
model at work). I fitted it with a curly mains lead and something to stop it
rolling away and burning stuff. changing the tips gives different
temperatures. they are worth their weight in gold; any quality tool that's
going to give years of service and become like another limb is worth
investing serious money in.
oddly, we've had lots of problems with the stats failing in the 24v model.
the mains model is quite different inside and uses different parts.
