maybe not so daft.. I dont use real cymbals for a number of reasons...
I do use analog drum machines because they dont really sound anything like 
actual drums.. If they did, I'd have to rip them to bits and add stuff in 
until they didnt..
I think the idea of tempo controlling the length of the sound is fantastic.. 
Actually, that's something Ive wanted for ages is an analog drum sounds 
module that the sounds gets shorter in proportion to increasing tempo.. that 
way your sound/silence time ratios are the same...
