Up! It should point up! Up means away from the trimpot.

Beware of order of pins, solder-side vs. component-side etc.
> Next question. Somehow after ordering from the parts list I ended up with a few 33 radial ceramic caps? Any hints on why? Are these the ones that are supposed to piggyback the 560k in the VCA?
VCF?
> Thirdly. I ordered two 1000pf caps and have no idea where they go. I tend to order extras so is this the 0.001uf cap in the noise generator? Thats the only one uncalled for. I'm no good at cross referencing values.
One to go for the noise generator, yes...
> And finally... On the board layout sheet in the VCO sections there
are three(total from both) caps labelled 0.1 cap as opposed to 0.1 uf
cap like all the others for power. Is this a typo or is there a
reason for this?
Typo I'd guess. Gene spread a number of 100 nF caps around the board
for decoupling.

Good Luck with getting the last bells and whistles into the working
order. Just get too it and keep us posted!
Hmm... if I where to put that ASM-1 there in the box back into order
by fixing the PSU and trim it, oh and some resistors badly needed
changing (30 octave fine tune is kind of... excessive?)
Cheers,
Magnus
