I've pulled delay lines out of old VCR's, but the ones in those don't seem
to 
be IC's or CCD..I don't know what they are. they're generally small plastic

enclosures with maybe 6 leads coming out the bottom. I'll have to rip one 
apart and see what's inside.

Hi Chris:

The ones I've seen, and I think this is typical for VCR's, are SAW (surface
acoustic wave) devices.  They produce a fixed time delay in the nanosecond
range.
