very large x ray tubes.. typically you would run it at 100-250kv, and prolly
up to 50 ma or more in a large scale situation.. so if we said that 200Kv
20ma, thats 4000 watts being dissipated on the anode [ these are notoriously
inefficient, most of the dc is dissipated as heat.] so the anode spins to
take the heat away from being just dumped in one area, which would most
likely melt it even tho it is made of tungsten.. I have a rotary anode one
and you can see a ring etched around the anode where the electrons strike..
