There are two possible reasons for including multiples on a synth using
banana jacks.

One reason is to make patching easier to trace, more structured.

The second is one of physical strength.  Banana jacks are just plastic
with a metal insert.  If you have three banana plugs stacked up, that works
as a three inch long lever, and it doesn't take much of a push or a pull at
the end to break a banana jack.

A friend of mine used to fit plastic covers on his 1/4" jack plugs instead
of metal ones when he went on the road.  When his equipment got
knocked, the covers on the plugs would break.  If he'd used metal ones,
there is a good chance that the PCB mounting jack sockets would get
broken or pull the pads off the board.  It's quicker to change a cord than
to replace or repair a socket....
