[sdiy] OT: Today's toxic mess

Well, hopefully not. Today I finally got around to disassembled that X-ray
head that's been sitting around here for ages. Surprise! The housing is
full of HV oil! Good thing a jar was handy. Good thing a plastic tub was
handy when it turned out to be just over a quart.

So now I'm sitting here with an X-ray tube in my collection and what looks
and smells like just ordinary light oil to dispose of (and dripped all over
the floor). Of course the unit could be old enough to have PCB's in it. Are
they any different in appearance or smell? Nothing was labelled as such
back when they were in use.

It's easy enough to dispose of this stuff these days but I don't know what
to do right at the moment. The whole project was a bear.

And I was worried about the lead shielding...
