[sdiy] OT? sequencer question

...don't know anyone else to ask (that I'd trust)...
I've been buried in my home studio/workshop for a number of years, and am
more than a little bit out-of-touch (as witnessd by my bemusement at the
copy of ELECTRONIC MUSICIAN I picked up at a newsstand recently -- haven't
seen this mag since I let my subscription lapse six or seven years ago--
jeez, I guess if you're not all fully-hyper-laser-optic digital-audio,
you're just nobody)....
My question concerns MIDI sequencers (for the PC). Since the dawn of time,
I've been using Dr T's KCS (last update, about ten years ago, to version
3.5 for the Amiga). What I like about Dr T (& really don't want to give
up) is the extensive "event list editing" -- the ability to get into a
sequence (or create one from scratch) & quickly & easily modify EVERY
aspect of that sequence from the computer keyboard. While I'd like to be
able to get rid of the Amiga & find a PC-type sequencer, none of the
(admittely few) that I've seen (Powertracks, for example) have this feature
-- or, if they do, it's implemented in an extremely clumsy manner via
mouse-controlled pull-downs & arithmetic strips.
Could anyone here who's purchased a MIDI sequencer (in the last decade)
point me in some kind of useful direction?
Thanks, eh?
