You mean class A single Pentode power stage? I aggree, but I didn't
think of that. I thought of the usuall push-pull circuit in class B or
AB. Funny, class A means worst case power consumption in the tube/tranny when
signal is off.
Are there any guitar amps with such a power stage, after, say, 1958?
