7447 does not say abcdef tho.. it does give individual characters for all 
except for f, which is blank.. the abcde chars are pretty oddball, but you 
can get used to them.. I ended up labeling the keypad with these chars once 
too.. there was one device used in TV tuners that had 2 dig readout 0-16 in 
a 16 pin dip.. it had a real weird no, like SN296xx. Ive got one somewhere, 
I'll dig it out when I have time. I've also got 9368, but I didnt know they 
did ABCDEF, I'll see if I can find out about them as well
