Yes thats right. Or with whatever you want to... maybe one VCO feeding
another VCO...

Cheap brand new midi keyboards start at about $50 (for computer use usually)
but
also look for used synths... I would definately get velocity sensing...
aftertouch is
not that necessary, a mod wheel can do the same thing. Aftertouch is good if
you cannot
spare a hand... usually with a modular you need one hand free to tweak knobs
etc.
