I've had my new Frostwave Resonator for a short time now and its since become my favorite instrument (the term effect is too limiting). Shortly after trying the cv inputs its replaced my wa wa. Also I can get more interesting sounds than any "Whammy pedal". Not to mention all the mix down possibilities.
One thing I've been experimenting with is a Gravis Gamepad... Yes the PC game controller. Its essentially an x y joystick setup. I hooked up the +5v inputs to + on a 9v battery. The grounds from the cv outs (x and y) and the grounds from the gamepad went to one end of a 10k resistor...the other side to the - on the 9v. One of the buttons is acting as a temporary "off".. kind of a nice fluke and handy for imitating djs. I'm still looking into what to do with the other buttons. Paul Perry has given me some great ideas. Also I'm using an old dead wa wa as a cv sweep on the hp freq. Nothing yet for the lp freq.
My big question of the day is how would I go about controlling one of the cv inputs with an envelope to spare my leg in getting that mutron...or should I say "Funk a Duck" sound? I've heard of it before.... I just need a refresher. Also if I have to split the guitar or keyboard line to use that as the envelope driver and the input thats no biggie.... I'm building four quad buffers as we speak.
Thanks....
Your ambitious newbie (yearling),
Nick P
