[sdiy] Difficult questions... (for a newbie)

	Heya folks,

Trying to frankenstein a synth out of a "Fabulous Fred" electronic game
from the early 80's. Problems tho - I was playing with a pair of
screwdrivers attached with a wire, standard circuit-bending fare, and I
seem to have managed to screw *something* up royally...

Ok, basically, there's a single chip in this box, and I have no idea
what it is. It is a larger-sized IC, 14-pin, marked NEC TTGR-511, with
K03076 written smaller.

My *very* basic electronics knowledge tells me that this is the sort of
thing NEC would have produced for Mego, the company that made Fabulous
Fred, and that my chances of finding a datasheet for it are next to none
- but thought I'd ask the considerable pool that is Synth-DIY. :)

Just to let you all know what's planned - Fabulous Fred is the
"ultimate electronic game" - there's a pic up at
http://users2.ev1.net/~rik1138/Mego/FabFred.htm, mine is a little
different in that it has markings in english and french. Canadian
version, I guess. All of the big buttons light up (well, only two do
now, since I screwed something in that IC), and rather than being a
Simple-Simon-type memory game, there's much more to it - a bunch of
games, in fact, the most interesting being a sequencer with whole notes,
eighth notes, rests, and a looping playback. >:) Planned additions to
the beeping-wonder include a ring modulator, 24db filter, overdrive
circuit, Blacet MIDI-Sequencer chip (wonder if I can clock this puppy to
MIDI?) and a knob for tuning - maybe even an envelope? If I can make it
all work, it'll end up being the ultimate synth-toy. ;)

Thanks in advance for any help on identifying the IC...

	Cheers,
	- Drew.
