Oh dear... oh dear... you are stepping into a minefield here...
Naturally, Harry is to blow off in the corner about BBDs, others will
object to the DACs while yeat others would argue around the actual
availability of BBDs.

Run with a ADC/DAC solution and then have a FIFO setup (possibly in a
FPGA), modulate with LFOs controling VCOs. Shuffle in some
anti-alaising, and do all this without saying anything to
anyone... just have fun ;)
