A number of camcorders now have near IR capability as a 'feature'.
They have some form of IR illumination that allows 'night' recording with
their IR sensitive CCD.
Probably not much use, but I though it was cool ;-)

I know of one source for infra red filters to allow only IR to pass.
Suggested use is to build an IR torch, but I guess it would help prevent
interference from visible light if you only want your CCD to see IR.

Hmm, they also sell pretty cheap green lasers.
Always thought that JM Jarre laser harp looked cooler than if he had just
been waving his hand around in an IR beam...
