   Yes, there are a few places to get that info.  TomG's website comes to mind.  He
has been changing things around  And, now that I just looked in my bookmarks, I see I
do not have his new website url :-(

    You can also go to my web site http://www.silcom.com/~patchell  I have a schematic
and PCB layout, but...I don't think it would qualify as "simple".  Still, you might
have some fun looking at it anyway (follow the link for the SMB).

    Also, you can look at the stuff the paia sells.  http://www.paia.com  Check out
their new 9700 series synth.

    Generally, there have been modules that combine a preamp and an envelope
follower.  Somebody (maybe tomg) has schematics for such a thing.  The outputs from
these modules generally include the raw amplified signal, the envelope, and a GATE
signal that is derived from the envelope.
