Of course, with the way US law works, assault is one of the easiest things
to get away with, Just ask Bobby Knight. ;)
I could plead in court that he was my role model: Does a great job, but
tends to be "overenthusiastic" as I have heard ppl say. :))

Well, things may be just dandy over in Europe right now, but give it time..
Soon, the EU will be flooded with the idea that they can get chinese and
indian engineers for 10 usd / hr and don't need you anymore. And, to be
truthful, we have sent much of our work to our facilities in Singapore and
China lately, and more is expected to be closed down and sent there any day
now..
And, mind you, every project we have sent there has become steeped in the
local corruption, and gets absolutely nowhere.. but its a cheap nowhere, and
to bean-counters, thats better than getting anywhere. Not to mention too all
our execs just *love* the way they are able to treat the employees at those
facilities. They are sold on the idea that some minimal physical beating and
screaming and yelling won't lead to a hostile work enviroment lawsuit. Plus,
15 year old girls on the assembly line who must do anything to keep their
job look awefully good when you are in your 50s going through a divorce
because you are jerk to your family.
Yes, some of the execs actually have bragged to me about all of the above
and how great it would be and how I should hurry up and get into management
so I can take part in the follies.

Problem is, most of them are old-timers just looking to ride out the next
couple of years until retirement. They are mad, but don't really care and
can't afford to.
Funny, all the young ppl are leaving the company in droves over these sort
of things, but anyone with over 10yrs in the company seem very complacent.
Highest paying employer in the area, least for now, and if you are a
complete loser dirtbag it is *very* difficult to get fired. So, they end up
with quite a bit of losers, unfortunately, and anyone with any talent tends
to leave when things like this come down or just take it and get an ulcer
and hope for retirement or death.

Well, thats good and bad to hear.. But, yes, there are other opportunities,
but in this particular instance, I decided to really throw myself into my
last two jobs thinking that devotion would lead to promotion.. Its not that
way anymore I guess. I should screw off more and tell my boss to F#$%
himself like my predecessor did.. He got promoted rather quickly because my
boss was fearful of what he might do and got tired of looking like an @ss in
front of everybody. First position that came up he was gone. Big bad manager
now he is.
Dysfunction reigns supreme!!!
Now I see why Shockley and Malvino went to mental hospitals. Many other
famous electronics gurus have been in the mental wards too, unfortunately.
Do corporations have an ongoing war with with their most talented staff?
Seems so.
