Everything is available online with a much better search engine ( IE: there
*is* one )
http://www.mouser.com
http://www.jameco.com and not to leave out the other biggie:
http://www.digikey.com
All have secure online shopping and their web sites are a good example of
what e-commerce should be.
I used to be in the print/copy business and a cheap paper catalog of a
couple hundred pages printed in "editions" of several tens of thousands
still costs the parent company more than a couple dollars each to make and
to send out. To cut pennies, they ship bulk rate which means that they need
to gang several hundred other catalogue orders together before it becomes
economical to ship.
