Oohhh....a trouble maker :-) ( he says while imitating Curly)

Personally, I prefer C++, but the only processor (embedded) I have a C++
compiler for is the 68K.

I would program in nothing but C (or C++), if I could get away with it,
but I generally always have to do some things in assembly.

As far as the AVR goes, I know of several C compilers for that which are
inexpensive and very reasonable. Somebody already mentioned one, I use the
Image Craft compiler, which seems to work quite nicely as well.

And I definately know that the Atmel and PIC are quite different assembly
language wise. It was the Atmel instruction set which made me pick the AVR.
My opinion of the PIC was....well....I wouldn't want to have to do any
assembly language programming on that processor. Coming from the 68K, I don't
have tolerence for clumbsy instruction sets any longer.

Hmm...almost looks like I am trying to start a little trouble here
myself... :-)
