I've heard of start up problems (something to do with channel selection)
and speed... though Ive never had one (I built my own)

And this is not something you want inside an analog synth...

Seriously what you're planning sounds more like a new synth than modifing an
existing one..
It might be quicker (and indeed easier) to build your own from scratch...

Mine has hobbies that dont involve me (cross-stitch, makeing rugs, etc,etc)
so we have time for our own hobbies, which is something you'll need...
