This is how it was designed to work, but someone on the FatMan list
had made some rather simple modifications to allow triggering it without
a keyboard.  Then supply an external voltages to drive the CV inputs.
I think it involves some trace cutting, but nothing so severe that it
couldn't be undone if desired.

Also, it really just responds to MIDI messages, so a MIDI sequencer
could be used without a keyboard controller.  I will admit to
having created whole pieces by hand editing notes in CakeWalk (c:
