Unfortunately this is not the case. Regulators will only regulate with
reference to a fixed point, namely the ground or 0V line. If all the
rails are in series, this 0V line will also be affected by the different
loading of each module. True, you can get away with series wiring on the
+ve and -ve lines but you still need to 'star' your ground. Otherwise
you will notice instabilties (hum, VCO and EG bleedthorugh) occuring
when you patch modules together.
Simply adding a bunch of 7812s to a every positive rail a stable synth
does not make.
