It's partly MP3: it doesn't so that good of a job on pure tones. Also, I'll
admit the 2nd saw demo is
not that great (time for more demos).

I asure you, the MOTM-300 saw has no 'distortion'. The OP275 op amps used
are like 0.005% THD.
The integrator uses a dual matched-FET zero-offset buffer.

Ring Modulation. The VCA is performing (Xin)(Yin)/25 so you get sum and
difference frequencies.

If you *really* want to hear what a MOTM "sounds like", go to www.rrich.com
and order the all-MOTM CD
'Bestiary'. You won't be disappointed! Here is one comment I got today:

Last week, Paul S. recommended R.Rich's new cd, "bestiary," since it's full
of MOTM. I bought it, since I've heard some of Robert's stuff before and it
was quite good.

To put it bluntly, this is simply one of the best ambient cds I have ever
purchased, and I highly, highly recommend it. The production is impeccable,
the tracks are seamless and progressive, and most of all, the MOTM synthwork
stands out as some seriously beautiful programming. I still don't own an
MOTM (no space for anything new right now, unfortunately, which is why I've
been selling some gear off), but if anything would convince me about the
quality of its sound, this cd has done the job.

Paul S.
